The Truth About Gynecomastia and Pseudogynecomastia
There are many site on the net today that talk about a condition called gynecomastia, but many of them have it wrong. In order to clear up the confusion I decided to write this article.
The condition of gynecomastia cause men to grow actual breast tissue and that causes them to develop man boobs. It is most common in young boys ages 8 – 14, but adult cases of gynecomastia are becoming more frequent.
Where the confusion starts is with a condition called pseudogynecomastia. This condition is exactly as the name implies, it is the appearance of breast on men that is usually caused by a fatty build up in the chest. This is common in both young males and adults as well.
The ways these two conditions are treated are entirely different as well.
For boys gynecomastia well generally go way with the onset of puberty. For adult men the treatment becomes more serious, doctors either use hormone therapy or male breast reduction surgery get rid of the man boobs.
Pseudogynecomastia is much simpler, because the treatment for boys and adult men are exactly the same, exercise and weight loss. Because the pseudogynecomastia is caused by a fatty build up in the chest, the appearance of man boobs are generally reduced with the reduction in weight and build up of muscle.
A professional doctor should be consulted by men with gynecomastia so they can discuss the best treatment options for their particular case. If surgery is the best option, then it is advisable that you find a quality plastic surgeon that is experienced in male breast reduction surgery. Do a search on You Tube for “male breast reduction surgery” and there are some very helpful videos for you to watch.
For men and boys with pseudogynecomastia it is best that you find a good weight loss program that focuses on both weight loss and building muscle. If you do a search for “man boobs solutions” on Google you will get some good results to get you started.
I hope that I have cleared up and question that you may have had about the differences between gynecomastia and pseudogynecomastia and the way they are treated.
